The Lasqueti Island Local
A community driven newsletter
For a quirky off grid island.

Tanis has long had a Octoberfest dream and this year she convinced me to help make it come true. Please join us at the Community Hall on Saturday, October 7th for a Lasqueti facsimile of Oktoberfest! Doors open at 4:20.
The Reverend of the 24 Hour Church of Beer will give a commencement blessing and then the taps will open! We are leaning into what you might expect by serving up beer (from the Mount Arrowsmith Brewing Company), pretzels made by Emily, and some kind of yummy sausage. Add to that sauerkraut and other delicious condiments, polka dancing (Denise will give lessons), and lusty singing (if we learn the songs where you are supposed to link arms and lift your voice). Also, since this is Lasqueti and it’s harvest, let’s also celebrate locally grown marijuana. Bring it to share, smoke and talk about.

This silly fun will be last of the fundraisers for the Community Hall Sound System as we are close to our $10, 000 goal. Admission is by donation. If you want to help make it all happen please get in touch with Jennyv@lasqueti.ca or 250-240- 7288. We need people to set up, to serve and clean up.
